Collages
Brian has always made collages. He enjoys the speed of working in paper card and wire and the challenge of using colour. Some are inspired by stained glass windows, others reference architecture, particularly steel work in public buildings, the natural world or just spring from Brian’s imagination.

‘The process of making cut paper collages in a studio at home has opened the floodgates to ideas less readily explored as sculpture. If black provides the structure to these compositions, colour vitalises them. Reds evoke the richness of stained glass, blues the fluidity of water or light in Venice…’
Judith LeGrove: writer and researcher on Modern British Art
